Partner-led supervision
Work is supervised directly by the partner responsible for the mandate. Juniors are expected to understand the commercial objective, not only the task assigned.
Careers
We look for lawyers who are precise about detail, direct in communication and interested in the commercial reality behind a legal question.
Why join us
Work is supervised directly by the partner responsible for the mandate. Juniors are expected to understand the commercial objective, not only the task assigned.
Team sizes are deliberate. Lawyers take drafting and client communication responsibility earlier than they might in a larger structure.
Most mandates involve more than one practice. Lawyers develop an understanding of adjacent disciplines through the work rather than through rotation programmes.
Internal sessions, writing programmes and external training are part of the working year, with time formally allocated rather than expected in addition.
Culture
We are a professional environment rather than an informal one, and we take the craft of legal work seriously — drafting, research discipline and clarity of written advice.
We expect colleagues to raise problems early, to say when they do not know something, and to disagree with a proposition on its merits regardless of who advanced it.
We are conscious of the demands of legal practice, and we plan resourcing so that intensity is concentrated where a matter genuinely requires it.
